Here at MMC we like to socialise, after all, we are a social group. Our monthly pub meet was established to ensure everyone knew where we would be at least once a month. You’ll know that on the 2nd Thursday of each month, some of us will be in the Carpenter’s Arms from 8pm. Life can be busy, so if you attend one month then miss a few, it doesn’t matter. Nothing is compulsory, and all you'll miss is a great social night.
Of course, the monthly pub night was never meant to be MMC’s only activity throughout the year, and it’s not. Great friendships have been formed (and continue to be formed), so it’s only natural we’ll want to meet-up and do other things, and some of those as a group.
Now, I’ve always said I’m not ‘dad’ of the group. I may have founded MMC, but it was never my intention to hold people’s hand, organise everything, and tell people what they should be doing and when.
Of course, I do more than my fair share, but we’re not a club with a committee, or an organisation with a management team. We’re just a group of blokes, and many of us can’t even remember our anniversary, let alone remember to organise a social activity.
If experience has told me anything, it’s if we don’t organise things early in the year, they won’t happen. Before you know it someone else has filled your diary, and you’re not even sure if you can attend the MMC 2023 Christmas meet.
MMC needs your ideas. What activities and events should we try to arrange for 2023? A ‘jolly boys outing’? A trip to the T20 cricket? A night at the races? A trip to the darts? A summer BBQ? A charity event? Honestly the list is endless, but like I say, it’s your group, so without your ideas and participation, nothing will happen.

Offering to organise an event would be even better. With your help 2023 could be another exciting year for MMC.
